Wheel and rim lifting projects with pneumatic grippers and manipulators

Wheel rims and truck rims have no good place to hold, yet must be centered on a machine or shaft. These projects use grippers that clamp the rim or disc, driven by a pneumatic cylinder, hung from a 200 kg pneumatic jib crane or a jib crane with an air hoist. Heavy truck rims that must stay rigid while turning get a manipulator.

In machining shops, a 500 kg rail frame with a rim clamp loads CNC machines, while 5T rails with electric hoists cover staging areas. One site moves a mobile-base jib crane between machines.
