200 kg Pneumatic Jib Crane for Wheel Clamping

Car wheels are heavy, round and slippery, so workers have to hug them close just to hold on. Every time a wheel is flipped for inspection or fitting, it can easily slip, and the rim scratches the moment it hits the floor. Doing this through a full shift overloads the back and arms.

FullSharp installed a pneumatic jib crane rated 200 kg with a wheel-clamping tool. The pneumatically driven clamp closes around the rim and holds it firmly throughout the lift. The operator rotates the wheel right on the tool, so they no longer support the load by hand, and the rim surface stays intact.

Equipment Installed

Pneumatic jib crane: an arm that rotates around the column, with a pneumatically driven lifting mechanism for smooth, gentle stops.
Wheel-clamping tool: two jaws close around the rim, driven by an air cylinder, holding firmly even while the wheel is rotated.
Wheel-rotating mechanism: turns the wheel on the tool to change its face for inspection or fitting, without lowering it back down.
Soft-padded jaws: a soft contact layer protects the rim surface, leaving no clamp marks.
Clamp-holding valve on pressure loss: locks the jaws closed if air pressure drops, so the wheel cannot fall from the tool.
