Car door lifting is a repetitive, all-shift job in an automotive parts plant: doors and body panels go from carts onto storage racks and back again. The panels are thin, sharp-edged and scratch easily, so carrying them by hand is tiring and risks damaging the parts.
FullSharp installed a three-part solution: a car door vacuum tool with vacuum pads, an ENDO air hoist for lifting and lowering, and a double-girder 5T ceiling rail that carries the tool anywhere in the work cell. One operator can lift, move and rack each door.
Car door vacuum tool under an ENDO air hoist, running on a double-girder 5T ceiling rail.
The operator holds the tool handle, with the control box right on it. Place the tool on the door, grip it by vacuum, then lift it with the ENDO air hoist.
Push the tool along the double girder to the right slot on the rack, lower it and release. The whole system runs on compressed air, so no power cable reaches the tool.
The door is gripped and lifted by the equipment; the operator only guides it, with less fatigue and no cut hands.
Vacuum pads hold the panel on its flat face instead of hooking or clamping the edges.
The double girder moves the tool lengthwise and crosswise, so carts and racks anywhere in the cell are within reach.
The vacuum pads hold the panel by suction on its flat face and never hook or clamp the edges, so there is less risk of scratches than with hooks or clamps.
A single rail moves equipment along one line. A double girder has two parallel rails with a bridge beam travelling on them, so the tool moves both lengthwise and crosswise across the whole cell.
The system in this project is marked for an 80 kg working load on the rail. FullSharp 5T steel rail is rated at 200 kg; the actual capacity depends on the hoist and tool used.
