Mobile Support Frame, Rail & 500kg Electric Hoist

A customer had a spacious factory with several fabrication areas far apart, each needing crane support only periodically. Installing a fixed crane at every area would be costly, and drilling into the floor to anchor columns was not allowed since the factory floor was already finished. The requirement was a 500 kg lifting device that could move from one area to another without drilling into the factory floor.

FullSharp designed and installed a four-legged steel support frame carrying a 500 kg overhead rail and a 500 kg electric hoist. The entire frame stands freely on the floor thanks to its wide base and self-weight, with no anchor bolts required. To move it to another area, the whole frame is simply lifted with a forklift and set down at the new location.

Frame Construction

Four-legged steel frame: box-section steel columns and beams, with truss-style diagonal bracing at the top and cross bracing in the middle to keep the frame rigid under off-center hoist loads. Painted safety yellow.
500 kg rail: mounted under the top beam, with a trolley running along the rail so loads can travel the full length of the frame. See the 500kg steel rail product.
500 kg electric hoist: electric chain hoist mounted on the trolley, raised and lowered by push-button, with stable speed and a load-holding brake. See the KITO electric hoist range FullSharp supplies.
Drill-free base legs: each leg has a wide base plate resting directly on the factory floor, with pre-drilled holes for anchor bolts if the customer later wants to fix it in place.
Electrical cabinet and emergency stop button mounted on the column, with cabling routed along the column and beam, keeping the area below tidy and safe for people passing underneath.

Which Factories Should Use a Mobile Support Frame

Large factories with multiple areas

One frame used in rotation across several fabrication, assembly, and packing areas instead of investing in a separate crane for each area.

Floors that cannot be drilled

Epoxy floors, floors with underground systems, rented facilities, or cleanrooms: set the frame down and it is ready to use, and it can be removed without leaving a trace.

Batch-based work

Production lines that change layout often or seasonal orders: the frame follows the work instead of requiring the factory structure to be modified each time.

Compared to a Fixed Crane and a Wheeled Gantry Crane

Compared to a fixed crane: no anchor columns or support beams need to be attached to the factory building, cost is much lower, installation takes only a day, and it can be taken along when relocating the factory.
Compared to a wheeled gantry crane: the four-legged frame is more stable when lifting off-center loads, and covers a wider area thanks to the rail running along its length, making it suitable for loads of 500 kg and above.
