The customer runs an R&D office with long rows of test benches and a repair area. Engineers often have to put heavy units on a bench for testing and disassembly, then move them to another bench. Carrying by hand is tiring and risks damaging the equipment, while the aisles between benches are too narrow for a forklift.

FullSharp installed a ceiling-mounted 5T steel rail system rated 200 kg along the room. Each line has two runway rails and a moving bridge beam carrying a KITO electric chain hoist with remote control. The rails cover the working area of the benches: the engineer hooks the load, presses the button to lift it, then gives a light push to move it lengthwise or crosswise to the exact spot.

Ceiling-mounted 5T rail system rated 200 kg with KITO electric hoists over the test benches of an R&D office.

Installed equipment

  • 5T steel rail rated 200 kg: red-painted 5T steel rail profile: fixed runway rails on the ceiling and a bridge beam traveling on them, with smooth-rolling trolleys inside the rail.
  • Ceiling suspension: rails hung from the ceiling on steel pipes and hanger brackets laid out to the ceiling grid, with no floor columns taking bench space.
  • KITO electric hoist: electric chain hoist on the bridge trolley, smooth lifting and lowering, operated by remote control.
  • Festoon cable: power and control cables hung on sliding hooks along the beam, following the hoist without getting in the way of people below.
