Automatic mini crane projects, 1–3 tons, self-propelled in workshops

An automatic mini crane differs from the semi-automatic type in that both lifting and travel are electric, and the operator only steers. This group includes a 1-ton crane for workshops and garages, a self-propelled 2-ton electric crane, and a 3-ton electric crane lifting to 4 m inside a workshop.

From 1 ton upward, pushing by hand is no longer practical, especially when turning in narrow aisles, so a self-propelled crane lifts and carries the load to another spot without installing a fixed overhead crane. See automatic mini cranes.
