PLC manipulator project clamping chemical containers with ultra-slow lowering

A chemical container must not be knocked or set down hard, since a small crack is enough to leak, and the last stretch of a manual lift is when the worker is most tired. This project uses a PLC-controlled manipulator with a clamp that wraps the container; a travel sensor reads the height so the PLC switches to ultra-slow lowering near the floor.

Safety valves and locks hold the load on power loss and release only once the container stands. The range covers 80–500 kg with a 2,500 mm arm. See the PLC manipulator.
