Chemical drums cannot withstand impact or being set down hard, since even a small crack can cause a leak. When carried by hand, the final moment of setting the drum down is when workers are already tired and most likely to drop it suddenly.
FullSharp installed a PLC-controlled manipulator with a clamping head that wraps around the drum body. The PLC manages the speed, so as the drum nears the floor, the unit switches to ultra-slow lowering mode, setting it down gently and giving the operator time to position it precisely.

Equipment Installed
- Manipulator arm: rigid structure keeping the drum steady at any height, operated with minimal hand force.
- PLC controller: programs lifting and lowering speed stages, automatically switching to slow speed at the end of the stroke.
- Chemical drum clamp head: jaws wrap around the drum body, with preset clamping force that holds firmly without denting the shell.
- Stroke sensor: detects the drum's height to trigger slow-lowering mode at the right moment.
- Safety valve and lock: holds the load in place if power is lost, releasing the clamp only once the drum is standing steady.
