Material rolls arrive lying flat on a pallet, but the machine loads rolls standing upright. Turning the roll upright used to mean setting it down on the floor and having several people roll it over, which was slow and scuffed the outer layer of material.

FullSharp installs an articulating jib crane carrying an air balancer and a roll lifting tool with a tilting mechanism. The roll is clamped, lifted, and tilted from lying to standing in mid-air, then fed straight into the machine without ever touching the floor.

Equipment Installed

  • Articulating swing arm: two folding arm sections that carry the roll from the pallet, around the machine, to the exact feed opening.
  • FullSharp air balancer: balances the roll's weight so a light push from the operator raises, lowers, and holds it at any height.
  • Roll lifting tool with tilting mechanism: grips the roll firmly and tilts it from lying to standing in mid-air, with locking pins at both positions.
  • Roll-cradling arms: shaped to the roll's diameter, spreading the force evenly so the outer layer of material isn't dented.
  • Integrated control handle: lift, lower, and tilt buttons on a single handle for a smooth, continuous operation.

Benefits for Your Facility

Tilts in mid-air

No need to set the roll down on the floor to turn it, eliminating a whole step and reducing the risk of the roll rolling away.

Preserves roll quality

Since the roll never touches the floor, its edge and outer layer stay free of scuffs and dirt.

One person feeds the line

The air balancer carries the weight, so a single worker completes lifting, tilting, and feeding the roll.
