A machining station often needs to lift workpieces and parts weighing several hundred kilograms on and off the machine. Calling in a forklift takes time, while a bridge crane running the length of the shop is far more than that one station actually needs.

FullSharp installed a 500 kg jib crane right next to the machine, with a steel rail as the arm carrying an electric hoist. The arm rotates around the post to reach both the workpiece staging area and the machine table, so one person can press the lift button and push the arm at the same time.

500 kg Rail-Arm Jib Crane with Electric Hoist

A 500 kg rail-arm jib crane with an electric hoist hanging under the arm at the production area.

Equipment Installed

  • Jib crane post: anchored with expansion bolts into the concrete foundation, carrying both the lifting force and the moment from the swinging arm.
  • Rail arm: a steel rail letting the trolley run in and out, picking up loads both near the post and at the far end of the arm.
  • 500 kg electric hoist: pendant-controlled lifting with a brake and limit switches capping the travel height.
  • Rotating joint: swings easily by hand through the working arc and stays in place when the operator lets go.

Benefits for the Factory

Covers one full station

The arm rotates around the post, reaching every point within its working radius.

No waiting for a forklift

Workers at the station lift their own workpieces, so the line never has to stop.

Right-sized investment

Installed only where lifting is needed, instead of a bridge crane running the whole shop.
