FullSharp installed an articulating jib crane on a mobile base in an order-picking area, where bulky cartons were carried from pallets to the conveyor with both arms and corners got crushed. The arm carries a vacuum pad that grips the box surface, the worker simply guides the direction, and grip and release are done with one hand.

The customer's order-picking area requires constant carrying of carton boxes from pallets onto the conveyor. The boxes are bulky, so workers must carry them with both arms, risking slips and crushed corners. The work position also changes with each batch, so a fixed column is not practical.

FullSharp installed an articulating jib crane on a mobile base, which can be wheeled to wherever picking is taking place. The multi-jointed arm carries a vacuum lifting pad that grips the box surface, and the worker simply guides the direction while the box follows. Suction and release are one-handed, with no need to carry the load.

Equipment Installed

  • Mobile base with wheels: wide steel base frame that can be rolled to a new position without drilling the floor or pouring a foundation.
  • Articulating jib arm: two folding arm segments that extend and retract, working well in narrow aisles.
  • Vacuum lifting pad: the suction surface grips evenly across the carton lid, holding firmly without leaving marks on the cardboard.
  • Vacuum pump and control valve: the handle sits right at the end of the arm, with one-touch suction and release, plus a load-holding function if pressure is lost.
