Manipulator Removes Airshaft from Material Roll

The airshaft inside a paper, fabric, or plastic film roll is usually heavy and long. Pulling it out by hand takes two or three people to hold it steady, the shaft easily runs off-center and scratches the core, and every roll change stops the machine for a long time.

FullSharp installed an articulating manipulator fitted with a clamp head made specifically for the airshaft. The equipment keeps the shaft centered, so the operator only needs a light push to pull the shaft out of the roll core and move it onto the waiting rack.

Equipment Installed

Manipulator body: balances the load so the heavy shaft floats in the air while the operator only steers it.
Multi-joint linkage: lets the clamp head reach close to the machine and rotate along the roll's axis.
Airshaft clamp head: grips the shaft body firmly and keeps it centered during removal so the roll core stays unscratched.
Control handle: lift, lower, and release buttons are on the handle for one-handed operation.
