A material roll sits flat but needs to stand upright to load onto the machine, or the other way around. Tilting it by hand takes two or three people bracing it, and the roll can easily slip and dent at the edge. Every roll change like this stops the line longer than it should.

FullSharp installs a manipulator with a tilting mechanism right at the roll-change position. The gripper head holds the roll at its center, then tilts it to the needed angle without human muscle. A load-holding lock keeps the position fixed when stopped mid-way, keeping the operation safe.

Manipulator for Lifting and Tilting Material Rolls

Manipulator gripping and tilting a material roll at the roll-change area of the production line.

Equipment Installed

  • Manipulator body: balances most of the roll's weight, letting the worker guide it by handle alone.
  • Roll gripper head: built to match the roll's diameter and core, gripping at the center so the edges don't dent.
  • Tilting mechanism: tilts the roll from horizontal to vertical or the reverse, able to stop at intermediate angles.
  • Safety load lock: holds position when paused or on power loss, preventing the roll from slipping.

Benefits for Your Facility

Tilts without manual effort

The tilting mechanism does the heaviest part, letting one operator replace a whole crew of carriers.

Faster roll changes

Lifting, tilting and loading flow together, shortening the line's stop time.

Roll stays intact

Gripping at the center keeps the roll's edge and outer layer from denting or tearing.

Installation Consultation for Your Facility

FullSharp measures the roll's diameter, width, weight and the required tilt angle to design the gripper head. Technicians check the machine shaft height and surrounding clearance before selecting the manipulator's mounting type. Contact FullSharp for a survey at your plant.
