FullSharp installed an articulating jib crane with a built-in air balancer rated up to 50 kg at an assembly station that picks and places parts hundreds of times each shift. The balancer cancels out nearly all the weight so the operator guides the part with fingertips, and a gripping tool shaped to the part holds it in the correct orientation.

The customer's assembly station picks and places parts hundreds of times each shift. The part is not very heavy, but the constant repetition tires the operator's wrists and shoulders as the shift goes on, and accuracy drops as a result. The part also has a specific shape, so a standard clamp often failed to hold the correct orientation.

FullSharp installed an articulating jib crane with a built-in air balancer, rated up to 50 kg. The pneumatic balancer cancels out nearly all the weight, so the operator only guides it with their fingertips. The gripping tool is custom-built for the part, holding the correct orientation and releasing quickly.

  • Multi-joint rotating arm: joints that fold and extend let the tool reach hidden spots a straight arm cannot access.
  • Pneumatic air balancer: balances the load against the weight being carried, so a light push moves it up or down and it holds its height when released.
  • Custom gripping tool: the gripping face is built to match the part's shape, holding the correct orientation and releasing quickly when set down.
  • Control handle: the lever sits right on the tool, so one hand controls the entire pick-and-place cycle.
  • Load-holding valve on pressure loss: locks the part in place if air pressure drops, preventing it from falling onto the work surface.

When a part is picked hundreds of times per shift, even moderate weight tires wrists and shoulders and accuracy drops. The balancer takes that load so the pace holds all shift.
