The customer's factory is leased, so drilling or welding into the roof structure isn't allowed. Parts still need to be lifted and set down repeatedly along the same route, and manual handling is slow and prone to dents. An independent, floor-standing lifting system was needed.

FullSharp built a freestanding steel frame carrying the rail, with the entire load transferred down through the frame's legs, leaving the ceiling structure untouched. A trolley on the rail carries a tool and hook designed to fit the customer's specific parts. If the layout ever changes, the whole structure can be disassembled and re-erected elsewhere.

Freestanding Rail Frame with Hook Tool for Workstation Routes

A freestanding steel frame carrying a rail with a hook tool, installed in a factory work area.

Equipment Installed

  • Steel support structure: formed steel columns and beams, standing independently on the floor with no drilling or hanging from the roof.
  • Rail: a standard profile with a smooth track surface so the trolley runs quietly and holds a steady direction the entire way.
  • Trolley: runs along the rail, carrying the tool and load, pushed lightly within the frame's span.
  • Tool and hook: custom-made to match the shape of the customer's parts, holding and positioning securely with quick changeover when the job changes.

Benefits for Your Facility

No Impact on Building Structure

The freestanding frame works in leased buildings or weak roofs, without needing renovation permission.

Can Be Disassembled and Rebuilt

The bolted structure can be taken apart and re-erected at a new location when the layout changes.

Tools Matched to the Part

Custom hooks and tools shaped to the product hold firmly, with less dropping and no scratching.

Suitable Applications

  • Machining stations moving parts in and out of a machine
  • Assembly lines with repetitive handling motions
  • Leased factories where the roof structure cannot be modified
  • Testing and inspection areas for heavy products
