FullSharp suspended a 200 kg aluminum rail from the plant's overhead beam and fitted a pneumatic jib crane with a vacuum tool to move cartons from the end of the packing line to pallets. The operator presses the suction head on the lid, lifts the box and pushes it along the rail, cutting repetitive bending and stopping corners from being crushed.

Carton boxes come off the end of the line continuously, and workers have to bend, lift, and turn to place them on pallets hundreds of times per shift. This repetitive motion strains the back, and boxes are often dropped too hard, crushing the corners.

FullSharp suspended a 200 kg aluminum rail from the plant's overhead beam and fitted a pneumatic jib crane with a vacuum tool for carton boxes. The trolley runs along the rail — the operator presses the suction head onto the box lid, lifts it, gently pushes it along the rail to the pallet, then releases the vacuum.

Installed Equipment

  • 200 kg aluminum rail: suspended from the beam with threaded rods, the trolley runs smoothly, and a light push sends the box along.
  • Pneumatic lifting unit: raised and lowered by a valve on the handle, placing boxes down slowly and gently.
  • Carton vacuum tool: rubber suction cups press onto the box lid with a wide contact area, so boxes stay uncrushed.
  • Filter and pressure regulator: filters paper dust from the air line and keeps vacuum stable throughout the shift.

Benefits for Your Plant

Less repetitive bending

Boxes are lifted by air power while the worker only pushes sideways. Back strain at the end of a shift drops noticeably.

Boxes keep their shape

The suction head presses evenly on the lid and lowers slowly. No more crushed corners from dropping boxes too hard.

Uses your existing beam

The aluminum rail hangs directly from the plant structure, so no floor space is lost to support posts.

Suitable Applications

  • End of packaging lines
  • Finished goods warehouses palletizing stock
  • Carton and cardboard packaging plants
  • Order-picking areas in distribution centers

Frequently asked questions

How can workers stack cartons on pallets with less back strain?

A vacuum tool on a rail carries the box weight, so the worker only pushes sideways and guides it down. The constant bend, lift and twist of hand palletizing goes away.

Can a rail be hung from an existing overhead beam?

Yes. In this project the aluminum rail is suspended from the plant beam. FullSharp checks the beam before fixing the rail and its supports.

Why choose an aluminum rail?

Aluminum rail is light, so the trolley rolls easily and the load on the building beam is lower. It suits loads up to the 200 kg rating used here.

Consulting for Your Plant

FullSharp visits your plant to measure the beam span, mounting height, and the actual weight of your boxes. Based on that, we select the rail length, mounting point positions, and vacuum tool size to match your box lids. Contact FullSharp to schedule a free site survey.
