The customer's workstation needs reach across the full circle around the machine, but a traditional steel-beam jib crane is heavy to push. Workers had to muscle the whole arm around just to rotate it into position, and doing this repeatedly through a shift was exhausting. The part also has an unusual shape, so a standard hook could not hold it securely.
FullSharp installed a jib crane with an arm made of aluminum rail, lighter than a steel beam, so the hoist trolley has very low rolling resistance. An ABUS hoist mounted on the rail handles lifting and lowering, while the arm rotates around the column up to 360 degrees. The tool head is custom-built to match the part, so it grips firmly and releases quickly.
