Mobile-Base Jib Crane with Battery Electric Hoist

Many workshops only need to lift loads a few times a day, but at different locations, next to a machine today, out in the yard tomorrow. A fixed crane would be wasteful, while running a power cable across the walkway is both a hazard and a nuisance.

FullSharp installed a jib crane on a mobile base fitted with a battery-powered electric hoist. With no power source needed on site, the unit is pushed to wherever it's needed, the wheels are locked, and pressing the lift button gets to work right away.

Equipment Installed

Mobile base: a heavy steel base with wheels and locking pins that keeps the whole unit balanced when the arm carries a load.
Column and swing arm: the arm swings around the column through a wide arc, picking up and setting down loads at two different spots.
Battery-powered electric hoist: runs on a removable battery; an overnight charge is enough for a full shift, with no outlet needed at the work site.
Control pendant: compact lift/lower buttons in hand, with the cable hanging at a comfortable length for the operator.
