Articulating Jib Crane for 50 kg Trays

Plastic trays loaded with components stack up to several dozen kilograms and have to be pulled out of a narrow gap between two machines. A straight-arm jib crane cannot reach in, and lifting by hand forces workers to bend and twist repeatedly.

FullSharp installed an articulating jib crane with two folding arm sections, carrying a horizontal air balancer and a tray hook tool. The articulating arm reaches around the obstruction, so the operator only has to pull lightly to bring the tray out.

Equipment Installed

Two-section articulating arm: each joint rotates freely, letting the tool head take a curved path to reach behind a column or machine.
Horizontal air balancer: a pneumatic balancing unit mounted flat on the arm, holding the tray weightless at any height when released.
Plastic tray hook tool: hooks onto the tray's rim, keeping it level and releasing quickly when set down on the conveyor.
Support column and floor base: bolted to the concrete floor, carrying the full load so nothing needs to hang from the ceiling.
