Large flat sheets weighing several hundred kilograms are slow to sling one at a time and prone to surface scratches. Dragging an air hose behind the lifter also gets in the way when the arm needs to swing through multiple rotations around the column.
FullSharp installed a 500 kg jib crane fitted with a battery-powered vacuum lifter. The vacuum pump sits directly on the lifting pad with no trailing air hose, so the arm swings freely and the operator simply presses the pad onto the sheet to lift it immediately.

Equipment Installed
- 500 kg jib crane: steel column and swing arm covering the pickup area, rated for the full weight of the lifting assembly.
- Battery-powered vacuum lifter: pump and battery integrated on the lifting frame, with no air hose or power cable trailing behind.
- Suction cup array on the beam: evenly spaced to match the sheet size, gripping both bare steel and painted surfaces.
- Vacuum gauge and warning horn: confirms full vacuum before lifting and sounds when pressure drops below the safe threshold.
- Charger and spare battery: charge between shifts and swap batteries quickly to keep the equipment running continuously.
