Paper rolls, film rolls, and fabric rolls are all heavy and slippery. Loading a roll onto a machine also means turning it to the right orientation, which even two people find difficult to do by hand, and the roll can easily slip or get crushed at the edges.
FullSharp installed a pneumatic manipulator with a rotating roll-clamping head. The operator guides the clamp into the roll's core, presses to grip and lift it, then tilts the roll between horizontal and vertical with just one hand.
A pneumatic manipulator with a roll-clamping head lifting and tilting a roll at the plant.
One person now does work that used to take two people to carry and turn a roll.
The clamping head presses at the right point, so roll edges stay uncrushed and surfaces stay scratch-free.
The roll tilts right on the manipulator, with no need to set it down and stand it back up.
FullSharp needs your roll's diameter, width, and weight, along with the pickup and drop-off heights. We build the clamping head to match that exact roll type, test it at our workshop, then install it and hand it over.
