Fiber optic cable reels are heavy yet very sensitive to squeezing and bend radius — just dragging or pressing on the wrong spot can damage the fiber inside without any visible sign. Workers carrying reels by hand get tired and struggle to center the reel on the machine shaft.
FullSharp introduced a pneumatic mobile lift assist arm for cable reels from 50 to 300 kg. The reel is gripped from the core and lifted in balance, and the operator pushes the whole unit on wheels to the machine that needs a reel change, then places it onto the shaft without dragging it across the floor.

Gripping from the core and lifting in balance keeps the cable from being squeezed or bent past its allowed radius.
The wheeled base serves multiple reel-change positions with just one unit.
The reel is centered on the shaft on the first try, cutting machine downtime.
FullSharp measures the core diameter, width, and weight of the cable reels along with the shaft height of each machine. Our engineers design a gripping head that holds the core correctly, select the appropriate lift stroke, then install and test-run it with real reels before handover.
