Components mounted on a transformer are heavy and must be centered precisely — even a slight offset means lifting the part back out to try again. Two workers holding it together get tired and struggle to align it, while a cable sling leaves the part swinging.

FullSharp installs a column-mounted pneumatic manipulator right beside the assembly station. The rigid arm keeps the part from swinging, so the operator just holds the handle and pushes lightly to guide the component into place and stop exactly at the mounting point.

Column-Mounted Manipulator for Transformer Component Assembly

A column-mounted manipulator clamping a component for transformer assembly at the workshop.

Equipment Installed

  • Mounting column and swivel joint: a steel column anchored to the floor or structure, with a swivel joint covering the assembly area around the machine.
  • Pneumatic manipulator arm: rigid construction that holds the part steady at any height, operated with minimal hand force.
  • Component clamp head: jaws shaped to fit the part, holding it securely without damaging the surface.
  • Control handle: lift/lower and release buttons on the handle for one-hand operation.
  • Load-holding safety valve: keeps the part locked in place if air pressure drops or is suddenly lost.

Benefits for Your Facility

Precise centering

The rigid arm keeps the part stable, so it lands in the correct position on the first try.

One-person operation

The manipulator carries the weight — the operator only guides direction and releases the clamp.

Safe on air loss

The load-holding valve locks the part in place instead of dropping it in the assembly area.

Consultation for Your Facility

FullSharp surveys the part's weight, the required reach, and the space around the assembly table. We design the clamp head to match the exact shape of the component, then finalize the column height and swivel angle accordingly.
