A work station needs to lift and place parts at several points around the operator, within a radius of a few meters. Lifting by hand throws off balance, and pulling a cart in gets blocked by the machine. There is also no floor space left around the station for a post.

FullSharp builds a jib crane from a 5T rail, with the arm hung directly from the ceiling structure and rotating around its pivot joint. The system runs at a 200 kg rated load, matching the light-duty jib crane class for parts, trays, and small boxes. The operator pushes and the arm swings toward the placement point.

5T Overhead Rail Jib Crane for a Work Station

Jib crane built from a 5T overhead rail, installed at a single work station in the shop.

Equipment Installed

  • 5T rail arm: a 5T steel rail used as the rotating arm, 200 kg rated load, with length selected to match the work radius.
  • Overhead swivel joint: bears the moment load as the arm rotates, turning easily and holding the angle when it stops.
  • Trolley on the arm: moves in and out to bring the hook to the exact lifting point.
  • Hanger frame and anchor rods: fixed to the truss or concrete beam, spreading the load evenly across the ceiling structure.
  • Travel and angle stops: limit the trolley's travel range and the arm's rotation angle.

Benefits for Your Facility

Covers the entire work zone

The arm rotates around its hanging point, reaching every spot within the work radius.

No floor space used

The entire load transfers to the ceiling, with no post or base on the floor.

Rotates with light effort

The smooth swivel joint means one push sends the arm in the desired direction.

FullSharp surveys the ceiling structure, clear height, and the radius the station needs to cover. Our technicians calculate the hanging point, select the arm length, then install, test the rotation angle, and hand it over to the operator.
