500kg Rail with Tools and KITO Hand Chain Hoist

The workstation uses many heavy tools; leaving them on the floor gets in the way, while hanging them in one fixed spot means carrying them over every time they're needed. Every so often a heavy part also needs lifting with no equipment to help.

FullSharp installed a 500 kg rail on the ceiling running along the workstation. The rail both holds tools for workers to pull to where they're needed and carries a KITO hand chain hoist to lift heavy parts when required, with no dependence on electric power.

Equipment Installed

500 kg rail: a beam rated for up to half a tonne, hung from the roof structure on threaded rods at calculated spacing.
KITO hand chain hoist: pulled by hand chain with no power needed; the brake holds the load at any height on its own.
Swivel hook: rotates freely so the tool or part turns to the right working angle without twisting the chain.
Rail-riding trolley: a light push moves it along the line, carrying tools and the hoist to any point on the rail.
