An 8 m long steel sheet is very hard to handle with slings and hooks. The sheet sags in the middle, sharp edges can cut the cables, and it twists when lifted, requiring two workers to hold each end.

FullSharp built a pneumatic vacuum lifting pad with a long beam split into multiple suction points running the full length of the sheet. The vacuum is distributed evenly so the sheet stays flat, does not twist while moving, and only one operator is needed.

Equipment Installed

  • Long suction beam: box-steel structure dividing the suction branches evenly, withstanding the bending moment when lifting a long sheet off a stack.
  • Vacuum cup assembly: multiple rubber cups grip the sheet surface, with each cup replaceable when worn.
  • Pneumatic vacuum pump: generates vacuum from the workshop's existing compressed air, with no separate control cabinet needed.
  • Check valve and reservoir tank: hold the vacuum if air supply is lost, giving enough time to lower the sheet safely.
  • Gauge and warning horn: shows vacuum level before lifting and warns when pressure drops below the safe threshold.
