The steel plates at this workshop weigh several hundred kilograms each. Lifting them with cable slings makes the plate sway and needs someone watching each end, hooks scrape marks into the edges, and positioning the plate correctly always takes several minutes.

FullSharp supplied a mechanical vacuum lifting pad rated up to 400 kg together with a pneumatic cylinder for lifting control. The suction side needs no electricity, while the cylinder allows slow, controlled raising and lowering, stopping precisely at the required height. The plate stays flat throughout the lift, so it doesn't sway.

Pneumatic-Cylinder Vacuum Lifting Pad for 400 kg Metal Plates

Vacuum lifting pad with a pneumatic cylinder unit, holding a heavy metal plate at the machine shop.

Equipment Installed

  • 400 kg lifting frame: a rigid steel frame carrying multiple suction cups, distributing the load evenly across the thick plate.
  • Pneumatic cylinder: raises and lowers according to a control valve, moving slowly and evenly when setting the plate down.
  • Mechanical vacuum unit: generates suction without electricity, reducing dependence on power at the job site.
  • Safety latch and gauge: displays vacuum level and warns before suction drops too low.

Key Specifications

  • Load capacity400 kg
  • Lifting mechanismPneumatic cylinder
  • Suction mechanismMechanical vacuum
  • Load typeThick steel plate, heavy metal

Benefits for Your Facility

No swaying

The lifting frame keeps the plate flat instead of relying on soft cable slings. No need for anyone to watch both ends.

Precise placement

The cylinder lowers slowly and can stop at the desired height, cutting down on alignment time.

Surface protection

The suction cups make soft contact with no hooks scraping the edges, so the plate's surface finish is preserved.
