A plant with a low ceiling still needs a lifting point that swings around the work area. A standard jib crane has a diagonal brace overhead, which eats into the available hook height — so the load barely rises before hitting the brace.

FullSharp built a jib crane with a 5T rail arm (200 kg rated load), rigidly connected to the post in a cantilever design. Without a diagonal brace, the space above the arm remains free for the hook's full travel. The post is calculated to withstand a greater bending moment to compensate for removing the brace.

Equipment Installed

  • Moment-resisting post: engineered to carry the load that a diagonal brace would otherwise handle, with an anchor-bolted base.
  • 5T rail arm: 5T steel rail rigidly connected to the post, 200 kg rated load.
  • Rotating joint: lets the arm swing through its working arc, turning smoothly and stopping at the exact angle.
  • Trolley on the arm: moves the hook in and out along the reach, running smoothly the full length of the arm.
  • Travel stops: limit the trolley and the swing angle, ensuring safety during quick operation.

Benefits for the Plant

Extra lifting height

Removing the diagonal brace lets the hook run its full travel even under a low ceiling.

Clear overhead space

Nothing obstructs the structure above the arm, making it easier to see during operation.

Simple structure

Only the post and arm are needed, making installation fast and maintenance simple.

Consultation for Your Plant

FullSharp measures the clear ceiling height, the required hook travel, and the floor for the post. Our engineers calculate the post for the actual bending moment, finalize the arm radius, then install, test-run the swing angle, and hand over the equipment.
