200 kg Pneumatic Jib Crane for Server Racks

Loading a server into a rack cabinet takes two or three people lifting and balancing it at shoulder height together. The equipment is heavy and expensive, and just a slight bump or vibration against the rack frame can damage the components inside. The rows of cabinets also sit apart, so a fixed piece of equipment cannot be installed.

FullSharp installed a pneumatic jib crane rated 200 kg on a mobile base, which can be pushed between rows of rack cabinets. The pneumatic mechanism lifts and lowers smoothly with no jerking, so the equipment stays almost vibration-free. The server hook tool holds the equipment in the correct position so it can be slid straight into the cabinet rails without anyone supporting it by hand.

Equipment Installed

Mobile base: a wheeled base frame that lets the whole assembly be pushed between rows of rack cabinets without needing to be fixed to the floor.
Pneumatic jib crane: lifts and lowers with compressed air, moving smoothly and stopping exactly at the cabinet slot height.
Server hook tool: a support surface that holds the equipment level in the correct position, sliding it straight into the cabinet rails.
Fine height-adjustment mechanism: aligns the height between the tool and the cabinet slot before sliding the equipment in.
Lockable wheels: lock in place during operation so the whole assembly stays still and does not shift while pushing the server in.
