1-Ton Gantry Crane for Vacuum-Lifting Cemboard

Cemboard panels are large, heavy, and brittle, so even two people carrying one can easily crack a corner or snap the sheet. The material staging area has no load-bearing ceiling structure, so lifting equipment cannot be hung overhead.

FullSharp installed a 1-ton gantry crane standing on the floor, with a crossbeam carrying an electric hoist that travels the full length to cover the entire stacking area. A battery-powered vacuum lifter grips the panel surface evenly, lifting the whole sheet without threading cables underneath.

Equipment installed

1-ton gantry crane: two legs standing on the floor with a crossbeam rated for 1 ton, with no need to attach to the roof trusses.
Electric hoist: raises and lowers electrically at a steady speed, with a brake holding the load when the control button is released.
Battery-powered vacuum lifter: a rechargeable-battery pump drives suction cups spread evenly across the panel surface, with no power cable to trail behind.
Vacuum gauge and alarm: continuously monitors suction, giving an early warning if pressure drops below a safe level.
