Overhead Rail, Electric Hoist for Rolls

Material rolls are round, heavy, and prone to rolling away — setting one down on the floor scuffs the edge. Lifting a roll onto the machine by hand is slow and dangerous, especially over the full length of the plant. Narrow aisles also make it hard for forklifts to maneuver.

FullSharp installed an overhead rail running along the production line, carrying an electric hoist and a roll-hanging fork. The roll is hooked on, lifted with a button press, and pushed along the rail to the right machine. The whole system sits overhead, keeping the floor clear.

Equipment Installed

Overhead rail: mounted to the ceiling structure along the production line, taking up no floor space.
Electric hoist: lifts and lowers with a button, brake holds the load, slow descent when seating the roll into the machine.
Roll-hanging fork: passes through the core or cradles the roll body, keeping it balanced and preventing it from rolling.
Trolley running along the rail: smooth rollers, a light push moves the roll the full length of the line.
Pendant control box: the operator walks beside the load, watching and controlling it at the same time.

The rail guides the load straight to the machine without blocking the aisle used by trolleys.
