Gripper for aluminium and tin cans

This gripper lets the operator lift drink cans from a pallet and move them into a display cabinet ergonomically. Instead of carrying two or three cans at a time by hand, the operator now moves 24 cans, around 8 kg, in every lift. The work becomes fast, efficient and even enjoyable.

The gripper was developed specifically to pick 24 cans at once and set them down in a defined pattern. Some cans have to be realigned in mid-air so they fit into the box in a particular way, and this requirement was built into the design, mechanics and manufacture of the tool.

The can lifter is custom-made for this task and shifts selected cans sideways so that they fit neatly into the box.
