Material rolls are heavy and round, making them hard to handle — rolling them by hand easily distorts the core and scuffs the outer layer. When a roll must be stood up or laid down to load onto a machine, workers often push it at an angle by hand, one of the most accident-prone moves in the roll-change area.
FullSharp installs a pneumatic manipulator for lifting rolls up to 250 kg with an electric roll-turning motor. The roll is clamped and lifted with compressed air, then tilted to the needed orientation by the motor — one person at the control panel completes the whole cycle.
Pneumatic manipulator with roll-turning motor handling a 250 kg material roll in a factory.
The roll is lifted, tilted, and loaded onto the shaft in one continuous cycle, so the machine stops less often.
No more pushing a roll at an angle by hand in a cramped area.
The clamp hugs the exact profile of the roll, so the core stays true and the outer layer stays free of scuffs.
FullSharp measures the roll's diameter, width, and weight along with the machine shaft height to select the right clamp configuration. Our engineers calculate the lifting travel and tilt angle, install the unit at the roll-change position, and test it with an actual roll before handover.
