Steel, stainless and copper pipes are typically 6m long, from a few tens to several hundred millimeters in diameter, and weigh tens of kilograms each. Manual handling takes two people, and the pipes easily twist, slip, bend and cause impacts in the workshop.

FullSharp supplies metal pipe lifting equipment using vacuum for pipes with sealed surfaces and grippers for large pipes and bundles. Mounted on an overhead rail or jib crane, it lets one operator lift pipes one by one from the bundle and feed them to cutting, bending and turning machines or stack them on racks.

Can oily or rusty pipes be vacuum lifted?

Pipes with a thin oil film can still be lifted, but the suction pads need frequent cleaning. Rusty or pitted pipes should use a mechanical gripper.

How long can the pipes be?

Standard equipment handles pipes up to 6m long. Longer pipes use a spreader beam with two suction points or two grippers, designed by FullSharp to your requirements.

Can pipe bundles be lifted?

Yes, with a bundle gripper or slings combined with a balancing hoist. For bundles over 500kg, a crane with an electric hoist is recommended.
