Product overview

This gripper for wood veneer and laminate is customized for furniture manufacturers. Veneer arrives rolled on large reels stacked on a pallet; the operator picks each one up, turns it vertical and places it on a spool in the machine. With reels weighing up to 38 kg, this is demanding work by hand, and the turning movement also strains wrists, hands and fingers.

How it works

With the gripper, the operator no longer carries the reels – the tool does. Its arms clamp tightly around the reel, and if the operator does not grip exactly at the centre, the tool automatically slides into the correct position. The reel can then be lifted, moved and set down where needed, and tilted from horizontal to vertical or back without any strain on the wrists.

Lifting different types of rolls

The lifter can handle any round object, such as coils, rolls or cylinders, because it is built to the diameter and weight of your rolls for a perfect fit. Eliminating manual lifting keeps ergonomics good and helps prevent work-related injuries.
