The Manhattan Drill Gripper 89-12197 is a customised mechanical lifting solution for drills. It grips drills of various sizes and weights and moves them from pallet to blaster and back again. The centre of gravity (CoG) is manually adjustable and the maximum lifting capacity is 13.5 kg.

How does the Manhattan drill gripper work?

The drills stand upright in a pallet on a trolley. The operator guides the tool into position with the clamps around the neck of the drill and presses the green button, and the gripper clamps onto the load. A green indicator lights up to show that it is safe to lift; if it does not light up, the load is not gripped correctly and the lift cannot proceed. During the lift, the balance can be adjusted with the black knob on the right handle, which moves the CoG bar on top of the tool for a more even weight distribution. Once the load is set down at its destination, pressing the red button opens the clamps and releases it.
