A gantry crane is a variant of the overhead crane, used to lift and move goods and heavy equipment in workshops, factories, seaports, airports and other outdoor areas. The gantry crane travels on rails laid on a concrete floor.

A gantry crane consists of 2 main parts: 
The steel structure, which includes:

  • Main girder: steel box girder.
  • Gantry legs (A-frame type)
  • End carriages (gantry end beams)
  • Accessories: guardrails, service platform, rail clamps, etc.

The equipment section, which includes:

  • Hoist
  • Electrical system
