Pneumatic Jib Crane Lifts Metal Sheets

Stainless steel and thin steel sheets pick up fingerprints and scratches easily, which manual handling almost never avoids. Large sheets also sag in the middle when two workers lift from opposite ends, causing warping that has to be straightened out before machining.

FullSharp installs a pneumatic jib crane fitted with a vacuum lifting pad at the sheet storage area. The suction cups grip the top surface and distribute the load evenly across the sheet; compressed air lifts it and the jib arm swings it straight onto the cutting table, keeping the sheet flat the whole way.

Installed Equipment

Vacuum lifting pad frame: suction cups arranged to match sheet size, keeping the sheet flat and marking-free.
Pneumatic jib arm: connects the sheet storage area to the machine table in a single swinging motion.
Vacuum pump and gauge: continuously monitors suction force and alerts the operator if pressure drops.
Control handle: gathers lift, lower, grip, and release commands into one hand, leaving the other free to guide the sheet.
Vacuum-holding valve: maintains suction briefly if air supply is lost, so the sheet doesn't drop immediately.
