Ceiling Manipulator for Motorcycle Frames

Motorcycle frames are heavy and bulky, and lifting one onto a fixture forces the operator to strain and twist. Doing this continuously at line pace tires the shoulders and back, and the frame can easily bump into fixtures.

FullSharp mounts a manipulator on the ceiling structure right above the assembly station, so no floor space is lost. The end effector cradles the frame closely, and the lift-assist mechanism carries the weight, so the operator only needs to guide direction and set the frame into the fixture.

Equipment installed

Ceiling suspension system: connects to the plant structure, bearing the load and keeping the manipulator positioned exactly at the station.
Lift-assist mechanism: balances the frame's weight, so the operator needs only light force to move it.
Motorcycle frame end effector: shaped to match the frame, holding it firmly without pressing against painted parts.
Control handle: lifting, lowering, and rotating right on the handle, stopping at the exact fixture height.
