Product Overview
Self-contained vacuum stations built around high-flow vacuum pumps and energy saver circuitry – suited to custom jigs, special lifters, hold-down clamping, and anywhere a large capacity vacuum source is required.
The VPEHE Vac-Packs handle non-porous through to porous loads and are designed to work with a wide range of lifter assemblies. They are built for heavy production use and can be supplied for heavy duty frames or as stand-alone vacuum stations.
Three sizes cover the range: VPEHE24 (1.5 HP, 24 SCFM), VPEHE48 (3 HP, 50 SCFM) and VPEHE75 (5 HP, 78 SCFM). Each is available in a wide choice of supply voltages, and with or without a 30 gallon vacuum reservoir (the -30G models).
50 Hz supply reduces flow on the larger models – the VPEHE48 delivers 50 SCFM at 60 Hz but 41 SCFM at 50 Hz, and the VPEHE75 78 SCFM at 60 Hz against 65 SCFM at 50 Hz. On a 50 Hz mains, size the station on the 50 Hz figure, not the headline number.

All three sizes share a 1″ NPT vacuum port. Flow decides how quickly a leaking or porous load is held; maximum vacuum decides the holding force per unit of pad area.
Safety Features
Vacuum Control
A solid-state control unit combines every vacuum generator control in one rugged package – all pump functions, the safety lights, and the standard audible vacuum leakage warning system.
Audible leakage warning
An electronically controlled vacuum loss sensor monitors the level and sounds an alarm if a slow leak brings the vacuum down to a pre-set point.
Vacuum retention
An internal check valve stops loss of vacuum if power fails (non-porous loads). A 30 gallon [6,939 cu. in.] reservoir is fitted on -30G models to help hold a safe level through a power failure.
Reservoir or not? – the reservoir is what buys time to set a load down after a power failure or a slow leak, so specify a -30G model for any overhead lifting duty. It adds roughly 240 to 285 lb [110 to 130 kg] to the station, which is why the plain models exist for jigs, fixtures and hold-down clamping where the load is not suspended.
Additional Features and Maintenance
Front control panel and gauges
All gauges, lights and power switches are mounted on the front of the control panel. Two vacuum gauges show the level in the manifold and in the reservoir separately.
Indicator lights
Front enclosure plus left and right auxiliary: green = safe vacuum level, red = unsafe vacuum level, white = power on.
Electrical enclosure door
Every generator has a hinged electrical enclosure door for direct access to the electrical components.
Moisture trap / air filters
Two over-sized screw-on clear filter bowls, mounted outside the electrical enclosure so they can be inspected and cleaned without opening it.
Vacuum pump – PMPHE Series
All pumps are oil-less rotary vane type with thermally overload protected motors. No oil change routine and no oil carry-over into the vacuum line.
Forklift transport
These are floor-standing stations from 233 to 739 lb [106 to 335 kg] – they are moved and positioned with an ordinary forklift.

For a 380 V / 3 Ph / 50 Hz site supply the models are VPEHE24-335, VPEHE48-335 and VPEHE75-335 – add -30G before the wiring code for the reservoir version, e.g. VPEHE48-30G-335.

Operator Controls
Three control styles are offered. All three cover attach, release and safety interlock.
Radio control suits an operator who needs to walk clear of the load; the pendant is the simpler option where the operator stays at the lifter; the harness is for integrating an existing radio system.
Installation and Transport
These are floor-standing stations, so they are positioned with a forklift whether they are being mounted on a heavy duty lifting frame or set up as a stand-alone source.
Before ordering, confirm three things: the site supply voltage, phase and frequency; whether the duty needs the 30 gallon reservoir; and the flow required by the load – a porous or leaking material sets the pump size, not the weight being lifted.
