MOTOR STARTERS AND PROTECTORS

Electric vacuum pump station accessories – short circuit protection, current overload protection and switching in one unit

Product Overview

ANVER motor starter for vacuum pumps

ANVER motor starter

ANVER motor starters are made to the highest quality standards. The motor circuit controller combines the function of short circuit protection, current overload protection and switching. Three phase.

ANVER starters can eliminate the need for larger and more expensive fuse blocks and fused disconnects, or circuit breakers. They offer a wide application range, from 0.1 to 25 Full Load Amp (FLA). For group motor applications, ANVER starters have a group installation rating of up to 600 V @ 2,000 Amp, one of the highest in the industry.

ANVER starters are also excellent as manual motor starters that employ all of the same motor protection features in one compact unit – the most compact on the market today. In the event of a short-circuit, the contacts are opened by non-adjusting tripping elements in times approaching 1/1000 of a second.

Because each ANVER starter is individually calibrated at the factory for the smallest and largest current, very accurate thermal overload protection is also obtained.

Each motor starter now comes with an enclosure.

Motor Starter Specifications

Horsepower ratings shown below are for reference. The final selection of the manual starter depends on the actual motor full load current and service factor.

Transformers should be remote mounted. Increasingly, many local regulations require that three phase power is not run below the hook. This is usually the case with smaller units intended to be used by an operator, so the transformer should be wall or remotely mounted for safety. FULL-SHARP supplies the proper transformers for these lifters; they ship separately in a box and need to be installed by a qualified electrician. It is usually best to contract this to a local crane installer or electrician familiar with local code requirements.

Other voltages / phases available – generators can be supplied in 208 V, 220 V, 230 V, 380 V, 440 V, 460 V, 480 V and 575 V by adding a transformer (consult the factory for more information). All generator motors with a voltage of 120 V or less use fuses or circuit breakers for protection. Motors and other devices using more than 200 V are fused and / or use thermal overload with a contactor.

Standards and Compliance

All ANVER electrical components, controls and wiring follow international standards: UL, CSA, NFPA, NEC. It is the user’s responsibility to comply with all additional local electrical codes as they pertain to the installation.

ASME B30.20 – power disconnects. The standard requires that hoisting equipment using an externally powered vacuum lifter has a separate vacuum lifter circuit switch of the enclosed type, with provision for locking, flagging or tagging in the open (off) position. That disconnect switch must be connected on the line side – the power supply side – of the hoisting equipment disconnect switch. Disconnects are not required on externally powered vacuum lifters operating from a 120 VAC single phase power source.
