Dual Drum Pneumatic Balancer with SDS Technology
Series: DKBC500S / DKBC700S
Knight designed the Dual Drum pneumatic balancer around the same Safety Drop Stop “SDS” proprietary dual chain technology. It is used where the application handles bulky or large parts. On a long part a single suspension point cannot hold the load steady – some applications need the end effector to stay square to the part, and two lifting points stop the tool rotating out of line.
With two synchronised drums in a single housing, the Dual Drum balancer handles off-centre shapes and unevenly distributed weight by lifting and balancing from two separate suspension points.
The balancer is supplied as standard with external retract control. Travel limit switches are available as an option.
Pneumatic balancers are used where the application calls for a float mode – letting the operator make the final placement of the load hands-free. Raising and lowering is faster than a conventional hoist, and the load can be “feathered” into position. The ergonomic control handle uses a colour-coded thumb lever.
Knight balancer chain is a special grade 80 chain with a proprietary surface treatment that extends chain life by up to 300% compared with standard grade 80 chain.
Single Drum
One suspension point. The end effector is free to rotate about that point, so a long or off-centre part will swing out of line and the operator has to hold it square by hand.
Dual Drum
Two synchronised drums lift from two points spaced 33 in or 38 in apart. The end effector stays square to the part, and weight that is unevenly distributed along the part is balanced across both points.
